William Kenneth Topper
William Kenneth Topper had been unquestionably the irrefutable “Topper” expert from the time I had begun to be involved with the serious study of Topper genealogy. Similarly, he was a specialist in the study of of “Zurgables,” “McGraths,” and others. I did not begin this study until some time in the 1990’s, but I know from conversations with my cousin, that “Top” provided him with Topper information back in the 1970’s.
Moreover, Top went out of his way to share his genealogical knowledge with whoever felt the need for his assistance. He appeared to be someone who invariably shared “random acts of genealogical kindness.”
He had a wonderful sense of humor, kindness and good will and he greatly advanced Topper genealogy scholarship in a variety of valuable ways.
